Aliquippa, PA

A gas pipeline explosion occurred in 2018 near Center Township, PA that resulted in the several electrical transmission towers and transmission lines needing to be removed and replaced.

PDDM Solutions was contracted by Bet-Tech Construction who was contracted to coordinate and construct accessibility to each of the existing transmission tower pads to allow First Energy and the Electrical Transmission Contractor to remove and replace the existing towers and transmission lines.  Due to the challenging terrain, constructing accessibility proved to be difficult and presented many challenges. One of the towers needing replaced was located in a remote location and required the use of the Erickson heavy lift helicopter to fly-in the newly constructed transmission tower.
